Field Epidemiology, Outbreak Research and One Health

TRIFT Consulting provides short-term technical project support for specific global health, humanitarian, and outbreak preparedness and response tasks against emerging infectious diseases in endemic settings, with a focus on zoonotic diseases in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), but not exclusively. TRIFT CONSULTING consultants will regularly travel to low resource settings for short missions (up to 3 months) in public health emergency prepared and response. This could result in the identification of research gaps at the human-animal interface, the identification and characterization of clinicalmanifestations of zoonotic disease, and the implementation of relevant research into treatment and interventions in humans and animals as part of an integrated One Health approach.

Project leadership, coordination, and management

TRIFT Consulting consultants leads, coordinates, and manages epidemiology research projects, including all related tasks such as project design, request for proposal development and coordination, project set up and training, project coordination and management, and implementation of quality procedures, reporting, and scientific communication.

Clinical Research and Vaccine Development

TRIFT Consulting consultants conduct site feasibility studies, clinical trial site mapping and strengthening, particularly in endemic areas. TRIFT CONSULTING also provides services to projects aimed at improving public health surveillance against emerging infectious diseases, as well as community engagement initiatives and research to facilitate vaccine research, development, and uptake in endemic areas.

Researchers must be able to design and lead clinical trials in endemic settings on their own. Funders and sponsors must recognize that high-quality clinical trials can be conducted in LMICs with some investment. There is an urgent need to increase the visibility and awareness of existing clinical research capacity in LMICs, as well as to build on it. TRIFT Consulting will advocate and promote the visibility of existing jobs in LMICs to local clinical researchers through the search engine, TRIFTCRC.JOBS, increasing their chances of conducting and potentially leading clinical research locally.
